Have you been offered a Settlement Agreement from your employer?

A Settlement Agreement (previously known as a Compromise Agreement) is legally binding contract made between an employer and employee.

It will set out the terms of departure between the parties and once signed, prohibits the employee from bringing legal action against the employer in respect of his/her employment and/or its termination.

This is usually in exchange for a termination payment made to the employee, and other benefits which are also set out in the Agreement.

The Settlement Agreement will only become binding once you have received independent legal advice on it, usually by a qualified solicitor, and that solicitor has attached a certificate confirming the advice that has been given.

Why trust CJCH with your settlement agreement?

We strive to ensure our services are accessible to everyone, which is why we are transparent about our fees and want to make the process of advising on your Settlement Agreement as easy as possible.

When it comes to advising you on the actual Settlement Agreement document, your employer will normally include a clause in the agreement to provide for a contribution towards your legal costs. This is usually between £250 and £500 plus VAT, but it can be more or less.

Should you wish for us to attempt to negotiate an ‘uplift’ on your Settlement Agreement compensation, we can discuss representing you on a ‘no-win-no-fee’ basis.

We will arrange for one of our Employment Law solicitors to contact you on the same working day that we receive your Contact Form.

We have a team of highly qualified Employment Law solicitors who have a wealth of experience and knowledge with handling Settlement Agreements. We provide trusted and reliable advice on your matter and guidance to ensure you get what you are entitled to.
